What do you look for in Lodging

I have a ladies ride coming up and have asked our visitors what they'd like for accommodation.
We have a brand spankin new Ramada hotel, with restaurant, lounge, across from timmies. No hot tub.

Another choice was a somewhat dated clean hotel, but had a hot tub and sauna. The rooms are clean, but look like Mr Furley decorated.. inexpensive like 50 bucks per night double occupancy. Parking isn't that great, but it is right downtown Creston. We'd have free access to the meeting room for a meet and greet. Ladies loved the idea of a hot tub and sauna (and I have a couple massage therapists coming as well)

I tried to tell the Ramada's manager 2 years ago sledders want a hot tub after a long day of riding? What are your thoughts? What are the things that you look for. I'm hoping to give some super constructive feedback and perhaps give sledders a little bit more for their stay here in our town. The fancy hotel offered free rec center passes. Hot tub pool, steam room.. but i said.. it's not really convenient. Am I out to lunch. Would you want to go to the swimming pool? Me, I'd rather have a cold one after riding, soak in the hot tub, then go out for a bite to eat.

Yep, Hot tub is a perk for me, and on some days 'no hot tub' would be a deal breaker for the wife. I'd cannon ball into the pool but after 5min id want the hot tub. If rooms are clean with decent beds it doesnt matter how dated it is to me, im not spending much time in the room anyways. Options for decent food/bevy/seating/lounge/socialzing close by is also something i take into consideration. Decent parking is nice but not much of a priority with just the deck on my truck, if i pulled a trailer it might be a different story.

Good all around value. Clean, comfortable beds, heat works well enough that you're not either roasting or freezing and affordable. Basically the necessities take priority then the nice-to-haves like a good restaurant/lounge on site and a hot tub. It's nice to come back after riding and not have to leave again so bonus if they have a cold beer store too.

For me, I'm absolutely not a good traveler. I get wigged out leaving the kids, home, dogs.. my comfort zone... a hot tub is a deal breaker for me. If I'm going on one of my rare nights away from home I want to have a hot tub to help unwind. Oh and wine!

We have a hot tub at home and really, away from home it's not big deal,.. besides after what we do in our own hot tub makes me cringe sitting in someone else's hahaha. As long as the room is clean, linen is fresh and as mentioned the room temperature is manageable not a constant fight to have too hot or too cold. Amenities are always a bonus and having good places to dine keeps us coming back, along with close stores to stock up on snacks and liquids.

Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. A drying room too! Don't really care about a hot tub as I don't really care to soak in everyone's wiener water. Somewhere that the crew can hang out, cook supper themselves and have some drinks, relax and watch some sledding vids at the same time. Maybe a smoking area and a garage space with tools if you need to do some wrenching! Hmmmmmm......I know somewhere like that!

NICE!!!!!!! When we went to Rene's Eagle valley it was like that.. a Kitchen I'd kill for, hot tub, drying room, sled vids pool table and such. was super comfy. little fire places in our room! That was my fave trip away.. that and the Kaslo hotel.. no hot tub but the penthouse suite had a Japanese soaker tub with local botanical bath products.. was awesome!

for our group the hotel daycore does not matter,cleanliness is important,parking is a plus,stores or restraunts close by is important. the staff is something we consider also since we've been to some hotels and the staff is rude and dosent care if you request anything but we've also stayed at places that will bend over to help you out any way they can.we travel through out the night and usually get into town around 8:00 a.m and most hotels will not let you check in till after 3:00 p.m but we have had hotels let us check in when we arrive in town so we can suite up in the hotel instead of the parking lot which to us is more important than a hottub.we dont spend alot of time in hotel so pricing is also a factor to us. for a group that your doing i would think that some people will be arriving at all hrs of the night so which hotel will catter to your group with rooms?

Having a clean room and facilities is a top priority. I generally stay in places that offer a suite when my better half is riding with me. No interest in using a community hot tub, I'd rather shower in my room or pour a bath. Having sufficient parking with security cameras or gates is a bonus, and if the room doesn't have a coffee pot, it had better have coffee available on site. I consider sledding a mini vacation every time, so I really don't wish to stay in a s##thole when I'm on vacation...
