Went to the Oilers/St. Louis game last niight and enjoyed it. We came out flying in the first period, fell asleep in the second and came back in the third. Great goal by Cogliano in the final seconds of the overtime period to win it. Who thinks the Oilers will make the play-offs?, long shot but they might.

Even if they make the playoffs, will playing 4 extra games this season really make a difference to anyone???

Well I am hopeful as I have season tickets and would like to see some more playoffs. I know that we won't go as far as the other year but it is still nice to see some playoff games.

Hey no worries the canucks will be in there to represent western canada... They know how to play hockey...Of maybe they should send the oilers players to go and play with the edmonton rush lacrosse team for a bit so they can learn to hit HARD.. I watch a rush game live, holy crap is that a rough game... But anyways i live in AB but i grew up in BC and will always be a BC guy at heart... Love them there mountains in BC....

We should all have that picture in our houses if we even watch a few games..

Otherwise I only watch the odd hockey game, mostly when they make the playoffs or when theres nothing else on TV. Im not a big fan myself.
But most people would push for there home team. If Edmonton was out and Calgary was still in, well there an Albertan team so I would be hoping for them, and Im sure its visa versa, Right..

You Oiler fans live in the past ! Last time the Oilers raised the cup - you still had a mullet and drove a van. McTavish, Kevin Lowe, Charlie Huddy ? come on - isn't it time to clean house. These guys traded away Captain Canada ( Ryan Smyth) for what ! . Yes last time Calgary raised the cup we had grandpa Lanny McDonald and I think Calgary fans have moved on. This is the new NHL baby ! No more Dave Semenco- now it's Sid the Kid, Ovechlin, Hemshy, Phneuf and Iginla style of Hockey. If you still admire Charlie Huddy and Dave Semenco - It's time you followed Hockey in the new millenium ( I am embarassed to remember who those guy are).

I a gree its the new NHL. A real good way to put yourself to sleep. Im embarrassed to call what we have today "Hockey" Sure its good if you like watching dump and chase style hockey because every team plays the trap.

The league has been littered with too many no talent filler players because there is just too many teams. If the NHL wants to have 30 teams teams, they need to have two leagues. One elite league with about 12 teams of all the good players and the rest can play their crappy hockey.

I miss the old hockey that was actually fun to watch.
