Re: Wet. Snow Drags - March 7 - 8,2009

Lanes are decided by the official..they have a system to keep it fair.
Backing up is good at times, I did the same and won on some runs.
Lights...Lights...Lights...
Thanks for all the advice! Would like to hear about the Eckville inncodent some day. As far as lane choice goes... how is that decided? I have seen guys back up a sled length or two from the starting line just to get traction.

By the way, if you are telling me too much, That just prooves that you are a real good dude!! :)

I'll be purchasing a teather cord tomorrow, I'm in~! Never raced before, should be interesting. Anyone know if I'd be in Improved Mountain or Improved stock? What is the maximum track length for Improved Stock?

Hop onto the SnowDrags site and read through the class rules...pretty straight forward.

Scott, wanted to mention that you should enter Improved Stock 600 with your sled as well. Many people will add parts to their 600's and not know how to clutch to it....or be asleep at the lights. Many stock 600's do well in Improved 600. Gives you a few more races to get excited about and more experience. Never know how you will finish!

I think I will enter stock and improved stock, thanks for the insite.

Now, where do I buy a tether cord and hardware?

Tether cord comes as a kit. Make sure to get the right one for your sled. There were a couple different ones. Call the Cat dealers.

Drill hole, connect wires, test tether function.....go race.

Re: Wet. Snow Drags - March 7 - 8,2009

Well I dropped by Argyl Motorsorts yesterday and they had no tether cord kits in stock for my sled. Mine needs a normally open curcuit tether and all they had was closed  Anyhow, does'nt matter anyway now as I have to work all weekend and could'nt make it anways. I was so looking forward to racing this weekend. Dissappointed. Next time I guess.

Yeah thanks for rubbin it in!! :d Make sure you let us know how you did and how the weekend went over all. I want to talk to you about the tether cord as well. I'm going to order one so I'm prepared for the opportunity to enter a racing event.

Good luck this weekend!

Re: Wet. Snow Drags - March 7 - 8,2009

Well it was AWESOME today.
Roads out were better than I expected, it was warm, a light snow at the beginning but it let up right away...we even had sun in the later part of the day.
If you have a few moments you should go out tomorrow...it is worth the trip out.
Here are a few photos, more to come, I have company on the wy over so I will have to post more later.

Saw you out there Sledbunny, didn't get a chance to say hi though. The girl riding the 670 in the 4th pic down had some issues. First race of the day and the sleds throttle stuck wide open. She managed to kill it and come to a stop at the end of the track. Then she tried starting it again and it took off down the field. Ended up about a mile away tangled up in a fence. They rode it back though, carbs must've froze up. Looked like mostly cosmetic damage.
