Hey guys. I know it’s not the season. But I found a really nice weldcraft jet that’s set up for the best of both worlds. Fishing an running the river. Just wondering if anyone has any input on there quality. Thanks

No experience with these in particular.

But that being said I'm a specs kind of guy, I don't care how good a boat builder is, if it has a 3/16" bottom and only 4 stringers with no UHMW it won't live long in the shallow rivers up here.

Do you have a model number that you can pull the specs on? Looking on their site it appears most models have 1/4" bottom or less.

I think they are decent overall boats. Depends what model, engine, pump and stuff like that. But it depends on what you want out of a boat.

Thanks guys. It has a 5 litre 305 in it. 138 hrs. Carbed. 12 deg hull. 4 stroke kicker with panther steering. It was rigged for fishing so I don’t believe it’s spent any time in the shallows. Stomp grate but no sand trap.

How big is the boat?

Sand trap not required if pressure pump . Volume pump requires one . Hamilton/Scott
305 with pressure pump is for smaller boats . 18-20 ft and built light . IMO

Congratulation, you will love the versatility of these boats over a prop job.
The wife and i certainly enjoy ours and like already mentioned, there is no such thing as a perfect boat.
Its what work for you.
Awesome looking boat.

Thanks guys pretty stoked. I’m going to go with a different kicker setup and then address the bottom situation. Currently no protection as the previous owner only fished the lakes with it.

Nice boat! You will wonder why you never had a jet boat all along now. As for protection give Jamie at high caliber a call. He welds the uhmw on so no holes in your boat.

Nice boat. Congrats! I have K5 polyurea coating on my jet boat. Hit quite a few rocks last summer. It takes a hit really well, looks good and no holes to drill as it is sprayed on.

They only do that on new boats. Won’t do it if it’s been in the water.

What’s the time and cost difference. When high caliber puts there bottom on do I have to pull my main?
