Cheaped out and bought a Weed Eater from Walmart a couple weeks ago. So far pretty impressed for the $90 it cost. Starts easy and has decent power. If you want to spend 3 or 4 times more then a Husky or Stihl for sure.

I've bought several of the cheap ones over the years, seems after a couple years I constantly had to adjust mixture setting for it to start, then again adjust them once it warmed up to keep it running. then they just wouldn't run, tear it down and clean it up, get it going again and same deal the next season. it made it so that I was the only one that could start it and run it, had to always pack a small flat blade screwdriver in my pocket to tune it on the fly. after repeating this thru 3 machines, said enough and bought a husky, haven't touched that thing in 5 years other than to add fuel and new trimmer line. now the wife does the weed eating.....sweet.

I hear ya, but the wife insisted on this one. It has a 2 year warranty and 90 day return from Wally World. I said yes to keep her happy mostly expecting that I would have it trashed inside of the 90 days but now I'm not so sure. I think it will hold up.

they certainly could have improved their quality over the years, if I would have maybe taken some sort of care of them maintenance wise perhaps they would last longer instead of just throwing it in the shed everytime I was done using it. but the husky doesn't seem to mind my (lack of) maintenance program....lol.

Yep,mines the same;gotta have the throttle wide open, choke half, and hold your tongue just right. And I'm the only one that can keep it running,so I'm the only one who gets the pleasure of weed whacking.
Put a few drops of gas in it yesterday to make sure it would run and it fired up real nice.So i topped the tank off and was gonna kill some grass and haven't been able to get it to fire since.I'm gonna go try one more time and if it doesn't run I'm gonna adjust the carb with a sledge hammer.

Fawkin thing must have been reading this thread and got scared!

You sure? We picked the old man up a 4 stroke stihl and it still uses mixed fuel.
