Just did my head O-rings too, lost one last Sunday. My egt's were really hot on the trail though so I think that contributed. Finally put my boondocker on so I'll fatten it up a bit and hope for the best. If you had a nasty coolant leak it might have contaminated the oil in the rod bearing, bad news bears.

Thanks a lot for all the input.Hopefully Ill have it all resolved by next season.I wan-t to fix it right the first time for Me And then just ride the HELL out of it.

Sounds like the "o-ring" is a bad design by Doo, maybe that's why they stopped making this engine? Still lots of riding left Hardcore, better get that Doo fixed...

Easy papa Smurff I think Polaris took doos design and tried to modify it with their 800s but made it worse
At least the 1000 makes more than a yr on a build :) lol.

I think I have some ideas on improving the O-ring issue.
If it works I'll be a hero If it doesn't work I'll be the first one to call Me an" IDIOT "!!!

Any ways I pulled off the head tonight and found some interesting differences in the O-RINGS.The one that's leaking has dimpell's on it from every head-bolt location the one that was not leaking is perfect.I can not believe SKIDOO would not use an actual head-gasket instead of an O-RING.Shitty design in My opinion.
Any one got an option on the difference in the O-RINGS and what to do about it.???

Looks like it was pinched at each head bolt why? I dunno can't say trying to think of how it would even be possible.
As for doo and I rings in the head I think everybody uses orings now at the top of the cylinders. Not sure why they don't use gaskets.
Can anybody answer that one

I'm mechanically retarded but I would have provided moral support...

Apparently the "WNR" crew is too busy sledding or drinking to help me.
