Woke up to a snow covered ground this mornin !

Its all melting away now, but.........ooooh the hills

Sorry, still no reports of trail condition, but I would plan on leaving from the staging areas and riding a bit of gravel

With so many requests for info, I went out to look for myself yesterday.

Allan parking area is completely bare, and users are parking in the back 40 by the entrance to the trail, some are even driving up .5km to the very small turnaround, but I dont think its worth it. Expect to ride aprox .5km of pure gravel from the staging areas and patches until 3km. The trails are melting very fast. I recomend using the old switchback trail as the new trail is melting extremely quick. Up top was very hard in the morin and nice a soft by mid afternoon.

I do not believe Clemina can be accessed from the original staging area any longer. My recomendation would be to park up in the next pullout at the beginning of the FSR road or even up the road if it melts more, but I dont think that can be done yet. Remember to make sure you are well off the highway. Remember Dixon is now open !

Still use caution out there and respect this tricky snowpack and please resist the temptation to look for snow and enter Caribou Closures. It has been an excellent year with compliance and I would like to keep it that way.

Enjoy the spring sunshine !

we rode the Dixon glacier on fri and sat. drove up to the shack, km4 or 5, not too sure.but the trail was pretty good after that. the snow on the glacier is pretty set up. triggered a small avy, nothing too serious.just enough to keep us in check and to remind us of how unstable this year has been.

anyways.

had a good ride on saturday a little setup but sunny and warm. rode clemina and dixon glacier on sunday. AWESOME. no one was on it. there was about an inch of fresh in clemina and about a foot and half to two feet on the glacier. sunny and one of the best days this year. i forgot my camera in valemount so ill try and find some good ones that i took on my other one.

drove past codys avalanche which is still visible as a reminder to play safe for the day.

seems pretty stable now. we were cutting some sidehills on a steep shorter slope and wasnt moving.
