That hole was maybe 5 minutes of shoveling, a ski pull or two, and it popped right out.
We don't carry sno bungies. We all have ~4ft continuous webbing to make pulling easier, and that's about it. It's a learned science from years of stucks. Or group has a cumulative PhD in stucks
Dam only 5 mins, thats impressive ! Looks alot worse than it was.

Mountain Labs makes a decent one. We all carry something similar in our pocket, or easily accessible on the sled.

A used fan belt off of a vehicle works well also. Not as compact as the Mountain Lab strap but do the same job. Mine easily fits into the the storage area above the gauges.
Nice. Wouldnt a fan belt be too short though? When loop it into the ski wouldnt it be a lot less in length ?

Hahah would be funny and scary at same time seeing go into a sinkhole. Was thinking a tow strap or lifting sling before you shared that with me. Probably just get a strap like you posted now. Gotta go buy a new helmet and linq jerry from martin anyway next week. thanks again !

Doesn't need much. Just helps get you on a better position to pull. Leaning back instead of hunched over. Or you can use them to help pull on a bumper, steering post, a-arm, etc to get extra leverage, or more reach when trying to roll or move a sled. I keep one in my front pocket, and it comes out almost every stuck.

I guess the correct name is a serpentine belt. They are about 4’ in diameter. A couple of pulling situations are available and they are great for lifting a ski out of a hole.

Just put them in the dishwasher or washing machine, maybe.
Mine was clean from the get-go. I did cut one down to about 1/4” and it worked surprisingly well.
Mechanic buddies just throw these in the garbage.
Not a bad idea. Got a friend who is throwing one out but I think I'll just spend the 100 like dawziman linked me. Going to be an expensive month

I switched from the homemade options to a mtnlab one simply because it folds up so compact, it just lives in my jacket pocket. Overpriced, yes, but it was conveniently sitting on the parts counter while I was dropping hundreds on oil and belts.
I find the double loops on one end are useful vs a plain climbing sling.
Some electricians pull tape / mule tape would be a good cheap alternative if you have a buddy to steal some from.

Curtis was heading there this morning to remove a big tree that's got the trail choked to single file at about km 1.
I assume that's in anticipation of starting grooming operations. But the trail had some skinny spots still on Saturday, so unclear when it will start for sure.

Some great news! Drumroll, please.....
Thanks to our dedicated grooming contractor, we are trying to open up our trails with less than stellar conditions at the low elevations.
NOTE... This can change at any minute
Clemina Creek will be open and in early season groomed condition for tomorrow, so trail passes are required, and the hope is to have Allen and Chappell areas open for Wednesday. The gate at Allen will still be closed tomorrow to build a good trail, and we thank you all for your patience.

We rode the old trail into Allen on Monday. Is wasn’t for the weak at heart but we got our bikes in. Trail was whooped bad. And a lot of creeks. But we knew what we were in for. We found good snow. We ventured to the back. Rode Clemina on Tuesday after the first groom. Wasn’t spectacular but they did all the could with the snow they have. Back to Allan on Wednesday. Trail was groomed for the first time. Definitely satisfied with what they have to work with. It’s still early but it’s worth it. Again we went back past Super Bowl. Still fresh to be had back there.
