Can anyone answer a quick question for me...I haven't sledded in BC in over 10 years, at that time we didn't need insurance and registration, has anything changed?

I have insurance and have never been asked for a plate. We did get stopped this summer out there on the side by side and had to show both.

Whenever we got stopped in Tumbler (summer & winter), they always asked for registration.
In Alberta, you need insurance to get your registration.

Technically… BC only requires registration (they want their sales tax if it’s a new registration)

But…. From one sledder to another, I would hope everyone out there has at minimum liability insurance. You have an accident out there and someone gets hurt and you don’t have insurance…… there will be trouble.

It’s rare but have been stopped in Boulder parking lot checking for plates and insurance and once on Frisby by the green tower while having lunch at Revy. It can happen

My understanding is that as an Albertan, you require the same as is required by your province of residence.
Just like winter tires in BC.
