Great day up at Chappell. I can't believe how much untouched there was up there. I was pulling fresh lines in the trees North of the lake all day. Didn't even make it past the lake since my wife couldn't make it up. Not a ton of tracks heading back that way though.

Didn't get much for pictures, but there was 30cm of untouched all over the place.

Clemina was being groomed and the trail was fairly decent. There is some new trails for the bottom bit and some are steeper and have switchbacks. Caution is needed when going up or down. Not tricky just you need to be paying attention. Light snow on trail till about km 7 enough to keep cool. From there it’s was great.

Up top snow is down several hazards still showing. We went into Bauer’s, several rocks still showing and many small trees. There was about 1’ to 1 1/2’ of fresh powder. The lake had water under the snow. Had a great day though.

Sled is broken in, man new turbo’s are fun, lots of power, don’t feel any turbo lag, and runs clean and crisp. Very flickable.

Big thanks to VARDA and all the volunteers and anyone else involved in making the Clemina trail possible this year. It's clear the detour was no small undertaking! I hope the majority of the users treat it with respect and keep it in good condition for everyone else out there.

Happy Holidays everyone.

To the riders of Clemina today. I need to apologize. In our excitement to get it open, I completely missed opening up the upper parking lot. This was an oversight and I apologize. Our awesome plow crew will be out prior to opening tomorrow and will have the upper lot opened up for ample parking. Im sorry.

PLEASE DO NOT park anywhere else but our staging area as Trans Mtn has operations and equipment staged on the main FSR. Our success of operations and use of the area relies on good cooperation. Please also stay on the groomed sled trail only and stay OFF of the plowed FSR.

Your cooperation with these simple requests will secure our long term use of the area.

All three areas groomed up fresh tonight.

Thank you and ride safe.

Had to winch one guy out of top parking lot, lol. Tried to make a trial in for peeps.

The trail up to Clemina today was great. Coming down was pretty bumpy.

Three was about 1 1/2 to 2’ pow. Some pockets had even deeper. We hit lakeview for most of the day.

Drove on the bottom rail of it with a pick up. Tagged it sideways with sled in parking lot. Or borrowed it for a quick load job?

There was a chain and lock on it. And it was
Thrown onto my deck damaging the deck side rails. Just not to nice to come back to.
Anyway, Valemount is busy lots of peeps riding. Great snow conditions with lots left. Dez was playing in the rock gardens at lakeview and hit his handle bars with his chest, handlebars came loose and he caught the avy bag lever, oops.

now if we could only keep sleds off of the fsr road. The number of sleds taking the fsr road down last night because the trail was bumpy was absolutely sickening. I hope we don’t lose this area.

Heard some guys got pulled over by cops on HWY 16 on way to Vale that weren’t from same household and got fined $1000 bucks each.
Could anyone confirm this?

Maybe they got ticketed for speeding, tint, lightbars and whatever else, but they aren't giving out fines for being in the same vehicle as people not from your household.

We sledded Clemina again today, Trail going up was great. I just want to say great work to VARDA for all the work on getting a trail set up with all the hurdles. The new section is well signed, every corner. Some people are still just giving it all the sleds have to go up and spinning town to ice, not sure why when you can easily climb the hill at 1/4 throttle. You can easily tell by the roost of snow going up that some peeps are doing this. Also stay on the trail. There was a few security guys watching the activity today, and it appears there is a camera at the top of the new light pole that wasn’t there the other day, Let’s all set a good example for them when there signs say “ Stay on the designated trail”

We got to the hill early and right away went into morning glory. No sleds were in there yet, tottaly untracked even the creek to get in. The earlier tracks from previous did not go very far. It was great, 18”- 30” of snow. Still the odd top of rocks to bounce off. After a while we headed out and hit lakeview for the remainder of the day. It was sunny so was able see, lots of untouched to hit and enjoy safely. Ran into a couple of snowandmud members, gave them a hand a few times. The other rider is Brianh

We rode Chappel Tuesday dec 29. Was a decent ride. Many areas left to ride with from 8” fresh to up to 20” in areas. We played in several areas with minimal to no tracks just have to look. Defantly didn’t need the scratchers down to keep the sled cooled. Trail was excellent both ways.
