you guys should try the gathering tree. New owner is awesome, open in the mornings, better coffee, mountain lunches to go and 10% off to VARDA members.

Oh! And they actually give back to the club! Support those that support your sport!

Gathering Tree is the Ticket!! Never disappoints

The gate is NOT NEW. It is a privately owned bridge. We negotiated its use and access for this season AND built new road so you will be able to access the area. It will be open by mid november if there is sufficient ground cover for sled only access.

Hey everyone, we are super stoked on the strong interest in getting going on the winter sled season. It has been an interesting summer and fall for certain.

We know everyone is eager, but snow wise we are sitting at under a meter still, with access being a big issue. There is not a lot of snow for coverage down low on the trails.

Some people have been accessing Allan Creek. The trail is rocky but accessible. Thanks to Matt for the great photo of their day sled boarding this weekend.

Clemina Creek has been a major work in progress. The washout of the bridge at 4km had really made us struggle to find an alternative access route. We were able to arrange an agreement for use of the private bridge and access at 4km, but we did have to make a new trail to gain access to the FSR beyond. As this is a private crossing, it is gated to avoid vehicles and possible erosion to the site and the area beyond. We are waiting on more snow before this can be opened. Trans Mountain is also in the area doing some major clearing for the Pipeline right of way. It's simply best to avoid Clemina for the next while.

As far as we are concerned, there is not enough snow to access the other zones such as Chappell or Westridge.

Our contest to win your membership and seasons pass is ongoing until the end of this month, so please visit the membership section on our website to sign up. Don't wait until the last minute to avoid delays.

Any questions at all, please feel free to shoot us an email or PM.

Ride safe

Well didn't see the above post from Curtis and ventured into Chappell today. There was about a foot of fresh snow in the parking lot so hucked a u-turn on the highway and gave it a go. Last few climbs were interesting with 5.5 feet of snowed probed near the trail end but 2 of is made it up and played in the medows all day, ventured as far back as over looking upper Tiffany lake. Amazing first ride of the year all things considered.

I love being WRONG. :common001::common001:

This current downpour of rain is probably dropping some intense snow up top. Wish it would cool off a few degrees though....

So what’s the deal? Are the riders from other provinces going to be welcomed or told
to go back to where we came from? All this COVID talk and non essential BC travel, not sure if I should pack a bag and the sled or sell it all lol. Any plans on restricting trail grooming again this season to try and detour out of town sledders ? Or is
everyone just waiting for our so called leaders to make the call and go from that.
