does anyone know what the plywood some decks have is called. Its the stuff that has that black coating layer on it that makes it somewhat water proof. It looks like its some kind of laminate. Also if someone knows what its called do you know where to get it. Thanks in advance.

The plywood on my last couple of decks was marine grade plywood. It was what they use in the bottom of aluminum boats. Mine came with the deck so I don't know where it is available but try Windsor Plywood for starters.

Sure the stuff youre talking about is the stuff that comes on an x deck, the liquidation place off st albert trail was selling it as they were an x deck dealer. They also carry the knock off super glides.

X2 on marine grade wood. Also the composite decking on full lotus looks like a good idea, though no experience with it.

X decking - want to outfit your trailer, deck or anything else with our antislip waterproof polywood decking? Available in 4' x 8' x 17mm sheets.

thank you. That's the stuff
That's the stuff I was talking about, its supposed to be marine plywood with a coating on top. I used it to re deck my marathon and it still started to curl a little after one winter, just make sure you seal the edges good when you cut it.

Next question is what is the cost of the 4x8 sheet? I pulled up all the local dealers & the xdeck page, no pricing.

Why use a Chinease made knock off product when you can use the Genuine product Superclamp II. They are not the #1 in the industry for no reason.

I put a couple boxes of xglides on my two place open trailer. When driving on my trailer in Sakatchewan,They shattered when i drove on the trailer at about -15 to -20 C. I found out they were Chinese knock OFFS, no wonder . Superglides now Better Product hands down !

I just talked to the Windsor Plywood guys. They suggested exterior sheathing OSB board.
For a weatherproofer they said to use Wellbond glue thinned out with water.
Sure seemed to know what they were talking about and the OSB is only $20 per sheet.
I'm giving it a try.

You will have to report back how the osb holds up on a deck as it usually swells up with water contact
imo Canadian made marine plywood like the marathon decks came with is the only way to go

I wouldn't use osb, it will look like crap in no time, way cheaper in the long run to use 5/8 fir and about three or four coats of a decent stain and then paint it. Going too cost me about a hundred bucks to re do my two place trailer, about 25 bucks a sheet, then go to Rona or Home Depot or any paint store , you can get cheap stain in the stuff they tint wrong for customers, and then a litter of black paint.

just use good one side treated plywood, not pressboard, and cover it with the bottom of a old plastic box liner, people throw those away all the time.the carbides dont stick to it like wood.
