A 20 should fit with no issues with the stock chain. It should actually take some of the dog leg out.
How many miles are on the Primary? The primary and secondary springs are likely sacked out already and everything else could use a refresh, buttons, orings, rollers, spring cup and shieve bushing if you have over 1000 miles on it. I lost 400 rpm from last winter to this winter. After a few rides this winter I rebuilt the clutches, first ride I was already back down to clicker 2 from 6. All last season I maintained 3 after break in.
Suspension, for climbing, not a lot of preload on the ski shocks, about 2-3. Limiter in stock hole or suck it up one. Center shock back off all the preload then just 2-3 tuns of preload. Rear springs, if you have stock rears, set on 4 or 5 depending on riding weight. Heavy springs, 1 or 2.
my '12 completely stock gearing and clutching gets a full shift at WOT, and average 50mph while climbing in decent fresh up good pulls with excellent back shift. A 20T would likely get you a few more mph.
What are your peak RPM's while climbing? Make sure you don't go over the 7900 if everything else is stock. Except the can, but a can wouldn't get you a peak rpm change.
It's the spi clutch kit in it.
My 2012 etec800 154 is a trenching pos I got a clutch kit in it and put at 23 top gear in it. It trenches like crazy and I only get 40 mph out of it climbing. Any suggestions. Thanks.
Actually come t think of it, I think it is a 23.
