Took my sleds off the truck, put on new summer tires on the new after market rims, and that famous shimmy has hit my Ford. Re-balanced tires once without fixing the shimmy. Today they will put on the old rims and tires and see if there is any difference. I guess the next step will be looking at something mechanical. 75,000 km on the truck and no abuse. Interesting.....

It's the runout of rim or tire, and hub hole in rim to hub flange

Winter tires where on the aftermarket rims doug??

Yes they were and there was a slight shimmy in them but not noticeable with the sleds on the deck.

Might need hubcentric rings for the aftermarket wheels, commonly overlooked issue.

They checked everything (u-joints, ball joints, shocks, etc..) and re-balanced for the third time. Then they put on the stock rims and the stock tires and it rides like a Cadillac now.

I just let them think about what they will do for me. A set of after market rims and two sets of tires (the new summer tires were the worst for the shimmy)??????????
