Good morning Doug. How was your road trip?

Had a great vacation; lots of history in Deadwood and surrounding area; toured some caves, saw the President's statues in Rapid City, toured Sturgis (even got a T-shirt!), and of course spent time at Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Got into a dandy hail storm out of the Crazy Horse memorial and have some damage to the truck. 3300 km in total. Camped in Billings on a day it reached 40C or 104F. It was a hot one!

The border crossings were no problem. No trailer checks and not even any different questions. The one scenario that was different was when we came back into Canada at Rooseville, MT (just north of Eureka), the US Border Patrol (3 guys) had a drug dog on leash and the dog was sniffing all the vehicles coming into Canada (i.e. leaving the USA). I noticed that they took the dog over to the American side when bikers were going through.

Sounds like an interesting holiday Ferniesnow

Yes, it was. Pictures are on the camera in the truck and Bev had to take the truck to work this morning as her car had a flat tire. Pictures to follow.

Turned off the phones at the border (so no phone pictures) as we didn't want a horrendous bill for roaming charges.
