Ya' it seems metal rooves and eaves trough are always a maintenance item. The $40/load for the wood is a good deal.

By the time I get gas n oil, sharpen saw, get permit, drive out there, fall, delimb and buck trees, haul er out of bush, load er up, bring er home, borrow log splitter from neighbour.... $40 ain't bad at all. Its nice spruce, all same length, split...... Just back up to the pile and get the kids lined up to pass it from the pile to the stacker!

Yes, it is a process alright and not everyone can doo it consistently. I enjoy it and it is quite rewarding when the wood shed is full by the end of May, knowing I am ready for another winter! I would like a place like yours as it would save a pee pot full of work!
