Our washer & dryer are 21 years old. The motor on the washer heated up yesterday and is in the burning out stage. They were MayTags and were great.

With Whirlpool now in control of MayTag and reading some of the reviews out there, I'm a little nervous about buying MayTag again.

What are your experiences and recommendations. Thanks, fs

Well Dusty, if I was living in this little place.......but my better half wouldn't see any humor on wash days!

Just another day on Snowandmud, a bunch of guys sitting around discussing washing machines and dryers......:d:d

hey man don't knock it! Snow and Mud is awesome and many times I read something here first.
Snow&mudders know everything........but better than that they can say it in a nice way!

What about your washer and dryer?

We bought the front loading LG washer/dryer set last fall, they were one of the better rated in Consumer Reports. Amazing how much water we are saving now over our old top loader. We get our water trucked in, so any savings is worth it. Both the washer and the dryer are pretty quiet too. I would suggest having a look at the Consumer Report and see which ones are rating well this year. My .02 worth :)

I bought a set of samsung front loaders for my old house and loved them. I will be buying another set for the new house within the year.
