After reading that I am really surprised at the ready to ride weight of the m8. I keep hearing they were heavy then the doo. Go figure.

I would be surprised by that. The market segment is growing but still no where near the percentage of units sold in the east and midwest. There are dealers down east that sell 1500 units a year.

It would be interesting to see the actual sales by model for each manufacturer. I've been searching, but haven't found any figures yet.

Not Sure
The sled has lost weight but they added it back for all the whiners that wanted more storage instead of wearing a fuggin backpack like a real man does.

Hey Ken, I got one of those BRP backpacks that can double as a tunnel bag. I have it so full of stuff I couldn't possibly wear it on my back any more. lol. I have to wear my avy gear in another pack specific for that purpose. BRP take the weight off and I add it on. Why, cause I ride with a buddy that has a yamaha so he is heavy enough already. The stuff I carry is the tow gear I need to tow his yamaha off the hill.

The first year the pro came out everyone was skeptical. Sales were steady for the etec.

2012 came and the pro was more than everyone expected, and I heard that cycleworks snowchecked 500 or something like that.
it was stupid high.
We will see this fall.
I would like to see some sales numbers too.

I know the new Poo is a pretty decent sled and really can't say anything negative about it but i really find it hard to believe it has more market share then the Doo when every trip I make to the mountians (which is many lol) I still seem to see alot more Doo's then Poo's on the hill...

08summit, I think it depends on the day. I've been out some days and it's XP's all over, but other days you'd swear Pro's are belly button sleds - everyone's got one. You also have to remember a huge number of XP's were sold before the Pro came out and the majority are still on the hill. You may not be seeing more brand new XP's than Pro's, but more XP's overall.

You bring up a great point. We were told last year that Doo had a huuuuge market share for the Canadian mountain segment. I have not seen the numbers for this year but have seen more cats and Poo's on the hill for sure. It would be nice to see the breakdown of Canada/ US sales for 2012. When I was in West Yellowstone in January I saw lots of Polaris's on the trails. Was it because of market share or a better dealer in town than the Doo guy who has a huge attitude problem in my dealings with him. I'm sure we will know shortly.............
