Well it is sort of a fail for over a year we have been hearing about a game changer from doo and we got as you say just a Polaris release gimmicks. And as doo has stated the weights are about the SAME. As doo has done in history added weight so we will see Monday as specs will be released. So power to weight should have not changed for them. As for Polaris you bet.

Yes but remember it's Burant approved.... And flickable.

So Polaris releases basically the same sled as last year with a belt drive, new running boards, new seat and a few lightweight gimmicks, and this is a "holy crap all new game changing" sled. BRP releases basically the same sled as last year with new rear skid design and track, new running boards, new seat, new controls, new plastics, and a few convenience upgrades, and this is a "they're falling behind" sled? I agree the changes to the 2013 pro are pretty cool but this new doo could set the bar in ways that you devoted members of the church of power-to-weight haven't even dreamed of yet.

Even with no change, the power to weight in the 2011 doo is better than the 2013 poo

I'm having a hard time with your math on power to weight ratio. Dyno port lists go numbers for xp at 163.9. Numbers for pro 154. So doo claims about the same weight so 459 for 154 track size. Polaris 417 for 155 track. 459/163.9 equals 2.80 lb/hp. Skidoo417/154 equals 2.70 lb/hp. Polaris. This is of course do hasn't gained any weight with the new skid. They use the word beefy describing the rear skid so......But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Didn't Dynoport say 151 for the Poo? If thats the case you have a slight advantage in power to weight. With our 16x2.5 game, set, match?

Hahahahahhahahaha bingo. Poor kids can't even do math! Same power to weight ratio but tons more traction and surface area for the doo. When is polaris going to leave the dark ages?

Hey cut them some slack. They are still trying to figure out how to make a 160hp 800 engine. Cripes, even Cat figured that out..............

If we install Monster decals on every Summit in the crate now we are sitting with a 2.71 power to weight. How do you like them apples?

Andrew, sounds like you are checking out the brochures and websites. Think before you spout. Powdermax is the adult version of the Camo Extreme. Always was.
You should recalculate the Power to weight again. These sleds don't ride themselves.Throw in some oil, coolant, and fuel. Oh, and a rider all geared up.

Why are you so bent out of shape with the new release?? Feel threatened?

I try and learn what I can from all the brands. I do not feel threaten just like stirring the pot. Who likes a boring forum anyways. Serious note though would you say the powdermax is better then the CE?

Or perhaps a real engine.. LOL
I'll take ten horsepower less, with a fifty pound weight advantage any day. Much easier and cheaper to gain power than to loose weight. The 2011/2012 Poo 800 engines have been holding up just fine according to the huge number of owners on the sled forums.

If it's so easy, why didn't Polaris do it from the factory?

Polaris has a big plate in front of them. There ATV,s are losing marketshare to CanAm, the Victory Bike is not going to ever take marketshare away from Harley, they are abit behind in the emission requirements set out for the snowmobile industry and they could also use some more jam in the 800 market. Geeeesh, cut them some slack. There are only so many lab coats around there to do all the work. Lol.
