We are replacing 4 Dodge diesel 1 tons with 2 Cybertrucks so I’ll let you know if it works.

Has Tesla given any indication when these things will start production? They seem to have a problem with hyping product and not delivering (ie the roadster)

That design looks awful and more importantly is not functional as a truck at all. How can you tow a gooseneck or 5th wheel with those sloped bed sides? What about access for a slip tank? It's a SUV with a bed, not a truck.

The only thing it will be good for is mall crawling, and hauling someones boat or what not. It will never gain traction with anyone who actually needs a proper truck.

Most people that own trucks don't use them for what they are built for. I bet over half of the pickups on my street have never pulled a trailer or hauled anything other than kids or groceries.

I'm not a fan of the design either, but I'm willing to bet that soon after they come out some "Berta Boy" will have one lifted on 37's.

Ok, bring your half ton down to the farm and show me how it’s done..

so your telling us that tinfoil abomination is going to be a better work truck than a diesel one tonne? To much koolaid in my opinion.

Yes.
Tow 14k pounds.
Haul 3500 pounds.
Never rust.
16” ground clearance.
Very little maintenance.
Low cost of operation.
Self driving features.

We just bought a 2019 ram 3500 LTD a couple months ago. As usual the metal gets a little thinner and the price goes up. It drinks DEF/diesel, the electronics/display are a joke, and the throttle response is sluggish. But it ‘looks like a real truck’ I guess.

To get your specs you are quoting, you need to order the tri-motor plus another $9200 for self drive. Cost is what, $110k? and unavailable until late 2022.
I also bet that all those air compressor features will work great when it's -30C.

How many of the self-driving / driving assistance features work on gravel roads and on personal property?

Autopilot doesn’t work at all on gravel roads yet. It should be easy though. It’s trying to find lane lines in the gravel which don’t exist. All they have to do is tell it to drive on the gray area and not the green. This will be important so I could have the truck pick me up in the field or follow the tractor when I go to a different field.

I’ll make a video of the summon working in our driveway.

that video is funny... points at the 6.2l chev gas and calls it a diesel, and same with the ram.... he needs to look a little closer at the charts! Blew a big part of his credibility there

Look again... he has the diesel specs and then the gas option specs are in brackets. Nice try though.

That's right. Cybertruck is a f-150 competitor with higher hp/torque than the 1ton diesels.

BS. They are claiming it's comparable to HD pickups but it doesn't have a hope in hell of stacking up. More power you say? Let's make a wager when you get yours, and see if it can pull a 30k trailer better then any of the big 3's one ton since it has more power.....
