LOL, lots of little boys on S&M. Comparing their little peepee power hahaha. I'ed find it more interesting except the likely hood of either of these sleds finishing without breaking something is slim. And that would just suck, wouldn't it.
Kinda like when you plan this big date and your plumbing doesn't want to raise to the occasion and then moment is gone. LOL

its all about the rider. i could probably smoke this guy on my 154 freeride with a plug wire pulled off

I am guessing you are thinking power to weight ratio.

590lb/170hp = 3.47 lb/HP

643lb/180hp = 3.57 lb/HP

The great equalizer being elevation.

590lb/135hp = 4.37lb/HP

But when they are stuck they are both heavy as **** and horsepower doesn't count for a damm thing.

Interesting figures, 170 for the 850???? high aint it, i doubt that very much from 50cc, i gave it 165 and was generous. Be willing to bet its closer to 160.
While the SW is 180??? Randy(Climax) i'm sure posted numbers in the 200 range...maybe 190. But i believe most agree with 200 as stock was common.

i wouldnt say narrowing at all. 53 lbs is the difference between enjoying your day on the hill and hating your life
Yeah you could throw a little money at her diet.

Same could be done for the 850. Just interesting to say the least.

when 4 strokes get down to a manageable weight we will all be on them. no one actually enjoys owning a 2 stroke blowing up all the time. its the sacrifice we make to have a light responsive machine that doesn't dive like a whale. maybe its the chassis that makes a 4 stroke feel so much heavier. i would like to see a 4 stroke in the new gen4 chassis see how that works. always wanted to try that pro rmk with the yamaha motor in it too that looked pretty slick

Exactly.
You gotta believe they are all working on a four stroke engine.

Just gotta dial in the pain to gain ratio a little.

I have no clue what the sidewinder weighs when it is stuck. That must be a 2stroke thing. The Yamaha will chew through anything.
I can assure you that is not really true. IF you know how to ride one AND if your a smart rider it will get you through almost any situation even other dudes will avoid if their smart. But when your stuck you better have a few friends or time on your side, cause its a bitch.

Your math is off a little the Sidewinder is far north of 200

210-211 HP consistently on most dynos and all you need to do is put a straight pipe on and it becomes well north of 220HP and 20lbs weight loss not to mention lightweight battery, seat, and cold air intake

Will be nice once the aftermarket has a year to latch onto this thing.

Have you guys built a lightweight one yet and weighed it?

Would be interested to see exactly what parts your replaced and the prices.
