When you did your compression test did you follow it with a second one right after it, the only reason I ask this is I'm wondering about the accuracy of the comp tester.
I'm sure the tester is fine but its something to consider.

ok. this is where i am. cold compression was 125 and 150. hot is 140 and 140. i think this is good. I think it got a little hot though cause the antifreeze was boiling in the little overflow bottle on top. The lid wont seal tight as the bottle does need to be replaced. the last owner used tie wire to hold the cap on. what could be causing it get hot. Also does anyone have a user manual for the racepak avenger 2? there is one on it and i have no idea how to use. oh ya. the oil injection is deleted and i pre mix the fuel at 40:1. Only a couple more weeks till snow and i want this thing running at top notch...or close to it. plug gap is at .045

you did the right thing.... I think you will be good to go. Their might be a bit of an air lock in your cooling system, but until you get snow to keep things cool, i wouldn't panic too much on the getting hot..... How long did you run it for before it started to boil over??? You doo need a tight fitting rad cap that does seal properly, or it will overheat quicker. The pressurized system allows up to about 16psi before it should pop and start to boil out the tube.... The more the pressure it holds(up to about 16psi) the better.........same applies to automobiles/trucks!

If you have the spare time I would almost pull the head off it and have looksy before the snow flies. Is there any numbers on the head? It might be a good idea just to get a hold of Specialty sleds with a model number and see if they can tell you the compression ratio on that head just for your information so you run the right fuel in it a the right elevations.

But on a side note, I noticed your are from Spruce Grove, the old lady's brother lives there and I'm hoping to get up there to travel some of the trails and maybe go on the poker rally. Interested in going on ride sometime?

a doo puller dont work. it is actually to long. a polaris puller fits but it may screw up the threads inside. i spoke to Bill and he may have one that will work. I called martin motorsports and they told me they can do it but it will sit on the shelf till they have time:mad:

had a polaris clutch on my formula 583,you need to use a polaris puller for that clutch.mine used the large shaft puller,i think the older ones used it.
newer ones used small shaft.could prob get one, brother works at cycleworks.

thanks timbo. The one we had today is a lrger diameter puller. i need a polaris puller with a narrow end like on a doo puller. there is a dozen peple at work that skidoo and they are all gathering up their pullers and bringing em in tomorrow. If we still dont have one, I will definitley be coming to you. I think i owe you some beers anyway!

motor is back in the sled but now i have no spark. Air gap between coil and magneto is at 0.60 mm. I seems there is only 1 ground. it comes off the carb side of the engine and runs down in to the frame (main harness) i think. i have looked for pinched witres and bad connections etc. any ideas? i know how to turn wrench's but when it comes to electrical im useless

The secondary ignition wires(spark plug wires) are quite common for allowing spark to jump at the coil and not firing the plug. There is no spark at all??? Then check both connectors down on back side of engine, and recheck the harnesses and connectors all done up properly. Recheck the ground down by the voltage regulator.......

there is no ground by the voltage regulator. the only ground i can find is the one coming off the block. it looks like it feeds into the main harness. it has to be something simple cause the light dosnt even come on when pulling it over.
