Stupid things you have seen while driving

You just described every CN intermodal and B-train lumber hauler I've met. Not a lick of english except "Buddy", "How much", and "no", poor driving skills especially with lack of winter experience. Seen too many of them packed into one truck with one valid license amongst them.

I stopped at the mandatory brake check at the top of the hill heading into athabasca this fall and while i was out checking stuff this pakistani (I think) pulls up and parks behind me with a gravel truck. he walks up and says something but I'll be fawked if I could understand what he was saying. took a minute or so of him pointing to my tire before I get that he's got a flat. fine....got that part. now he starts yammering something else....takes another couple minutes to decipher he is looking for a tire shop. ahhh, okay. so I pull out my phone and google tire shops, kal tire comes up. give him the number and he asks me for directions to get there....another 5 minute process. holy chit, I'm not a racist guy, if you're working you garner respect from me regardless of the color of your skin or your religious beliefs. but come the fawk on, learn a little of the language so we can at least effectively communicate.

Sad thing is, after 5 minutes of explaining directions to the tire shop he pry still couldnt find it. Ive been in on some of those situations where they dont understand and regardless of how much time you spend explaining, they still dont get it. The feeling you get once they say ok and drive off is priceless. The feeling of knowing they will get lost again and feeling sorry for the next SOB that has to explain directions! Lol

When I was taking my air brake course a few years back there was a guy in the class that they had to read the questions to!!He was reading at about a grade 3 level!!White guy,tapping on 40 or so!!The guy teaching wasn't kidding when he said everyone will walk out with their air ticket!!...Oh and he wasn't a farmer either!LOL!!

Thats why being a Push Truck driver sucks, your life is in the Pull Trucks hands. The only control you have is the throttle. No touchy the steering wheel.

man, you see them sometimes with the windshield coated in road grunge so they can't see a damn thing....they must all be running Allison autos, or what? set the cruise and have a nap...lol

That was by smoky lake, the same weekend as the Edmonton sled show. It was just back up on the highway on my way home from the show that day. A few tow trucks, cranes. Should have stuck around for the recovery!

I did it a few times one winter for our sister company at the time. It's funny, some guys that are claustrophobic don't last very long because, like you said, your windows are blacked out and your moving. It takes some getting used to having your foot in the throttle and not being able to touch your steering wheel. And your shifting is totally different too, lots of communication, especially going up hills. You both DEFINATELY don't want to shift at the same time, she comes to a halt in a BIG hurry. I would set my cruise for about 1 or 2 km's slower than what the lead truck was doing. And yes on the flats you can catch up on your reading, some guys watch movies
Also, It just beats the living hell out of your truck. Rads plugged off, air cleaners jammed full, front end full of road rash.

Well I was driving down HWY16 and notice this young lady driving all over the place, and seen that she had been texting and driving. This really pi$$ed me off, so I drove up next to her, rolled down my window and tossed my beer can at her.
