I stopped at the mandatory brake check at the top of the hill heading into athabasca this fall and while i was out checking stuff this pakistani (I think) pulls up and parks behind me with a gravel truck. he walks up and says something but I'll be fawked if I could understand what he was saying. took a minute or so of him pointing to my tire before I get that he's got a flat. fine....got that part. now he starts yammering something else....takes another couple minutes to decipher he is looking for a tire shop. ahhh, okay. so I pull out my phone and google tire shops, kal tire comes up. give him the number and he asks me for directions to get there....another 5 minute process. holy chit, I'm not a racist guy, if you're working you garner respect from me regardless of the color of your skin or your religious beliefs. but come the fawk on, learn a little of the language so we can at least effectively communicate. You just described every CN intermodal and B-train lumber hauler I've met. Not a lick of english except "Buddy", "How much", and "no", poor driving skills especially with lack of winter experience. Seen too many of them packed into one truck with one valid license amongst them.
