I am second guessing if I should have ordered it now, but oh well, I didnt, so I guess I dont have a choice LOL. I guess I will have to decide once it gets here, and if I want it, I guess I will get it if I ever get another new sled...

I used to laugh at e start until I got it, never go back.

1. Try and pull start a big bore after you spent 20 mins digging it or someone else out on a slope. E Start = Win.

2. Pull start a cold motor on the second day of your weekend, sore shoulder vs push a button. E Start = Win.

3. After stopping on a steep slope (wether to help someone get out or stuck yourself) with the sled pull start side facing downhill when the sled is across the slope, you have to hold the sled from rolling over and try and pull start or stand on the uphill board, push button and ride away. E Start = Win.

I've been in all three senarios numerous times and E start is the best thing since sliced bread!!!

.My 08 summit did not have e/s, my 09 and 10 did... I have a good laugh at people that say e/s sucks, I laugh at them b/c they cant just roll their sled over after a beauty stuck b/c they know that they will be pulling and pulling to start their sled while I track out the pow.
My freeride this season will not have it but I'm installing it on it later.
e/s good
non e/s, if I wanted more work I go into work.

I can only speak for Ski doo sleds as thats what we sell.
For this season, unless somebody gets lucky and finds an Summit e-tec of their track length choice/colour/choice of e/s that was checked and was declined finance at time of delivery, or somebody walked from their deposit, they will not get one, end of story, and also other reasons your most likley not gonna find one, I can only speak for my brand though..... :d:rant::d:nono::d......
In previous years there are lots X's available, some years there are none( last season if you waited to get a 163 in copper you were out of luck, same goes for 154's. ):
YOu can pay for it early(ie Snow check) and get exactly what you want, or shop around for a deal later and comprimise your choice and buy on price, it's up to the consumer... If your happy with what you have and got exactly what you wanted, giver... ride your ass off and be proud of you sweet new sled.:beer::beer:
If you want to do some investagating call around to other dealers and ask if they have any and what the price is.... I'll bet you'll be happy you pre booked one after doing the footwork...

Most of the KTM off road bikes have both e-start and kick.
Why leave things to chance when you're on the back side of Silent Pass and your battery could be too dead to start your sled?

My brother in laws 2010 KTM 450 sx has no kick start and only has e/s, the suspension also sucks.

The SX are only e-start but I consider them a track bike so you can always push them back to the truck when at the track. The KTM engines seem pretty tight for the first few rides when brand new and you end up killing the battery when you're way back in the woods and have to bump start it. They get much better after a few rides.
I'm pretty sure the 2011 SX and maybe the 2010 if you look close comes set up to add kick if you want it.
I thought my suspension was great until I got it done by Chris at Pro-action. Stock seems pretty poor compared to my ride now.

As for e-start on the sled, I have never run the battery out on my 09 summit X and don't expect to(lucky enough to grab a left-over X in the fall that year from Bow South and love it!) but I wouldn't want to chance not having the pull start. You can use a rope on the primary but it sucks every time, especially when flooded.

The only time I pull start is to make fun of my buddies who don't have e-start.

Chris Bonneau does great work, I've had a few bike done by him a few years back. Latley I've had Tim from Enzo do my bikes. The harder you ride the better she works.....
