My ramp is only a 10 or 11 foot one piece, it's pretty steep.I find it best to just go for it and not even really look.Lady luck rule.

The one RGM posted above I can see having issues with!! Maybe I’m just lucky, I have a stock hight truck and an scoping ramp and don’t really find it an issue.

Hardest hill of the day!! Is that fair?

hahahahahahaha!

either sbr or myself posted that... That's the guy that bought my 2014 800 doo... Thought he'd try and load it for the first time ever, and went up the ramp nice and easy and then burped it a little too much and went right over the roof onto the hood and into the berm infront of his truck. Damaged his roof, hood and his pride. Sled was a-okay. Just lucky he never came off the roof over the side.

I used to have an old skyhigh mfg deck like that it was a short ramp but it wasn't quite so steep. That remind of Tex78's setup before his hydro deck it was sketchy.

Troy, don’t we know someone who was loading their Yamaha apex on a deck in flip flops and shorts? Didn’t go well as it went over the headache rack, onto the roof and down the hood?
hahaha I thought about mentioning it, but he is our Chief and I didn't want to speak out of place LMAO.

can you imagine what the neighbor that witnessed that thought?? :Happy4:

Thanks for sharing all this info. I just bought a used deck last weekend and now I am having some second thoughts. Maybe a afternoon in the shop to build a longer ramp and a ladder to get my old ass on top of it. Any suggestion on securing the deck to a Alumia duty. The ratchet straps I used to get home made the factory hooks look questionable.

I put mine on a 3/4 plywood base (whole box) then bolt it to the box with large backing plates, then use turnbuckles at the rear corners. Maybe it’s overkill, maybe others do better, but it works well for me.

I’ve put smaller pieces under the feet of previous trucks and still had it damage the box so I go with a full plywood base.

3/4 inch plywood under deck is a must . IMO
Have used 8 ft ramp but try to run the front tires up onto snow bank a bit.
Makes a big difference for unloading and loading more so .
10 ft are much nicer for sure .

I have a nice Marathon deck with a tele ramp, but it never sees any action. I prefer to ride to and from the hill alone and load my sled in the box with a trifold ramp with Superglides. I walk beside my sled while offloading and go very slowly. I leave my ramp out most times and try to pile snow up at the bottom of the ramp so it’s somewhat froze in when I get down and drive right up. I dont like anything about going up on a deck, especially fuelling, might sell it.

It was fine till I hurt my foot and the mind played tricks lol

As long as truck was level and you hit it at the right speed no issues

Did that for 6 years lol, never once did it get sketchy till the first day with air cast off foot

But I would never, ever go back lol

So easy to load, wife could do it, easy to install cover to boot

Holy crap! Now we have another one out for the season. Buggered up his arm somehow just trying to get his ramp in place by himself. Might get crowded with cripples around the fire at the parking lot.

I prefer handling my ramp by myself. I have a system worked out that makes it easy as pie, i decline help when it is offered.

X 2...........It is easy by myself as I know about the balance and the sliding on each side. It is just the feel and when someone helps, there is no feel.

I got a system too, but mine is heavy I’ll accept help. Depends who I’m with. It’s tag team if I got the right buddy but solo other than that.
