First i've heard of that....

I guess Dealers have had a few hand-fulls of sleds come in with that issue... IF you aren't looking you wont see it..... I never saw it

Bernoffs sled and Young-Guns sled had the issue as well.....

All replaced and taped up....

I wasn't planning on it. I was told I should check the reeds. the dealership I use has seen over 8000 kms on a turbo etech with no problems. I believe they did not get that many out of the reeds though.

Turbo reeds are better than stockers.

Stock reeds, 1000 miles and there will be chipping and flaking. 2500 miles they are likely starting to cause noticeable issues.

That's not an XM issue, its an etec issue.

Please post up some pics if you find a leak. I am going to once over my sled in a day or two. Just got back from Mcbride, put on 98 miles this weekend. 68% break in left.

OK,

I started a thread, about a problem, but realized that this probably is the better route.

My '13 XMX is hard to start on occasion. If I don't nail it the first pull, I have to pull and pull 5 to 6 times to get her to run.

Also the DESS key, almost every time I start it, comes up on the screen "CHECK KEY"

I got this once in a while with my older rides, but this thing does it EVERY time. all it needs is a wiggle, but still, it could be a hazard in an emergency... if you get my drift.

Ran into this in 2012. If I didn't give it a good tug once in a while it took a few more which was strange. Never did figure it out. Same deal with the key. One even lost programming and wouldn't drive. My suggestion is get a new key programmed and hopefully that fixes that issue.

I will try that. I did some reading and the dess post is also a thing to look at.

It is different than others, my dess post has a round metal part and a small straight part. on the face/

I will get some pics to show.. Maybe it's something that is overlooked by doo

It's the oil pump.

Mine had all the lines busted off. I am thinking they had an issue on the assembly line.

I would pull my DESS off quite regularly and experienced the same difficulty. My mechanic had a little tool that reformed the male part of the fitting and that helped. I don't know why the newer parts can't handle the same abuse that the older ones did as I am not doo-ing anything different with my riding.
