Question.
When you say it gets crazy hot on the turbo side is this because it creates alot of back pressure?

No. Its has nothing to do with the back pressure. It has to do with the retention time inside the housing and down pipe. a stoker its air in exhaust out without much restriction, with a turbo its air in with extra fuel witch equates to higher egt's along with the retention time within the exhaust housing to spin the turbine = higher radiant temps within the chassis. A nice exhaust wrap and turbine blanket with fix the issues and improve performance, but theres a risk of cooking the bearings with the blanket.

And premature rusting of the piping....... vent the side panels guys let the heat escape

I wonder if there is a spray on insulation a guy could use?

i wrapped mine and installed mountain fit vent kit. it helped a little but still gets real hot. plastic by side panel clip is still dripping. installed the powder freaks reinforcement bracket so it doesnt fall off. these turbos need a lot more rest than a stocker. so much fun to ride but i have to force myself to stop and let it cool off a lot more than i would like to.

I would say about the same. After running both I would say it's not worth running 5. 5 to 7 feels like a bigger jump than stock to 5. Noticeably more lag at 7 though. Sooo good once it spools up though.

It takes backpressure to spool it. Best investment to date was a turbo blanket. As well if you run a external wastegate these thing are giant heat sinks. Really wish I splurged for the water cooled version.

what kind of track speeds are you seeing? Upper 80’s/90

Couldn't tell you to be honest. Haven't made a point to check this year. I know I was seeing mid 80s at 5psi and it goes up hill substantially faster now. I will take a peek next time out and report back.
