I had mine done over 20 yrs ago, dislocated 7 times. The 1st 4 before surgery & 3 times after but has been good for the last 10 years. The scar looked like lenny's & heal time was 8 months with physio & all, lots of R&R

Best of luck big guy, hope everything goes well.

If you need anything let us know.

I'm going under the knife tomorrow morning to have my shoulder repaired from a crash I took awhile ago. They are re-attaching my Labrum (S.L.A.P. tear), some rotator cuff repair and also repairing my bicep tendion.
Who has had this type of ortho surgery before? What kind of recovery time did you experience and any other advise is appreciated. Please share your experiences. Thanks.

And obviously orthoscopic is probably a million time better, but since you have torn tendons too I doubt they can go that way.
I had my tendons and ligaments worked on all done orthoscopic 3 small scars about half an inch or less (6 stitches total)
the nurses were all quite shocked as they had me booked for over 2.5 hrs of surgery (took just under 2.5 hrs) hopefully than go with ortho as it less invasive an quicker recovery

Been back at work for 3 weeks and the shoulder feels better than it has anytime in the last 3 years. Goin to Valemount tomorrow night. First mountain trip in 2 yrs. Wish me luck. Oh and I also bought a shoulder brace to wear while ridin.

Yep I'm out of surgery and in the recovery room. Doc says it all went very well. I'm ripped on morphine right now. Should be going home in the next few hours. The complete repair was done with orthopaedic so no big scars. Let the recovery begin.
