These things impress me more everytime I get in one. The places they go and where they climb is very impressive.
I wonder how well they would perform in the MTNs, Im wondering about rescue scenarios, where a chopper cant fly. Properly setup they are long enough for a gurney.

That's pretty lucky if you got to ride or drive in one, the price of them keeps me away for sure,but maybe in 10-20 years for me......I'll have the vodka and Kalashnikov ready!!

Yeh cool rig but 125g it needs to be working and getting paid for.

There are five of them up at Syncrude in Fort Mac.There is also a company in GP which bought two of them and rents them to oil and gas and mining companies for $ 1100.00 per hour. Not a bad ROI if you can keep them rented. The western Canada distributor is in Edmonton.

He works at it. He has shift job plus does snow removal cabin sitting/ Maintence around the lake and all his you tube vids

Saw four of them on a truck pulling into the Husky in Saskatoon a couple of weeks ago, had to check them out pretty cool units .

The only thing that I don't like about them is their steering, not like a skid steer. To turn, the one side stops while the other side keeps rotating. I believe that they are chain drive. It would be nice to see future versions with skid steer like manoeuvrability. My .02

Huh? They are skid steers.

I could be wrong but I believe it will go forward with no input on the hand controls. Then you pull back on the right or left control to brake one side or the other. Pulling back in both controllers will brake straight.

Where or when a chopper can't fly? Western Canada is low enough elevation choppers can service the mountains, only limitations are visibility and light and some of the SAR teams can fly at night.

That's crazy if they drive that bad after paying all that cash?? Even a lawnmower would be more high tech!

They look interesting but they're fairly wide and tall I think you'd have a hard time getting her on most trails with all the fallen down trees. Also if you break down who's gonna be able to tow you ?

By definition they certainly are. I think he was referring to the ability of a Bobcat hydrostatic type skid steer to have one set of wheels turning forward while the other set turns backwards. Sounds like these just have steering clutches like the older snowcats had. A lot cheaper and simpler to maintain than a hydrostatic drive actually.

they were at the Boat & Sportsman show..... there were some people looking at them, but it did not seem to be a very popular booth.

I have 15 hrs operating one of these and actually did some maintenance on it one afternoon on it to check the chains. What I see is a way better built machine than a argo.

It has a 5 speed manual transmission in it and a kubota turbo diesel in it.

A hydraulic steering motors would add weight to the unit and it would still need a chain drive like a Bobcat, and it will spin around in its own tracks.
They are by far way better and more comfortable to operate than a argo, the maintenance on a argo is horrible!
