Bolt through the frame or the box?Add another one to turnbuckles and bolting it to the bed. SGI insures anythin that is “permenrently attached” to the truck. If it’s bolted down it’s classified as permanent. I would check with your insurer.
I personally run 4 turn buckles and two big bolts in the front on my deck. Just make sure you put larger backers on the bolts so it doesn’t deform the bed.

So bolting to the thin guage metal box is just to appease sasky insurance? As long as its bolted to the box it’s classified as a permanent fixture.
If you can get a longer bolt and make it to the frame I’d opt for that, but not drill through the frame, rather get a backer that would grab the frame and tighten the bolt to grab the frame with the backer.

Lol.Pretty much yes. Just like how most “bolt on” accessories are covered with your insurance and are bolted on. Fender flares, step bars, grills.
couple of wraps with baler twine should be good to go.
Thats all I use. Its in a half ton so I dont want a bunch of extra weight that bolts and turnbuckles are going to add.
Ive used turnbuckles in my rams for almost 10 years, ive never bolted them in. No issues.
