Props to the guy (I'm assuming her dad) for being in there a split second later. Not sure he could have done anything if the sea lion hadn't let go, but glad to see no one seriously hurt.

Went salmon fishing there. Usually a few of them bobbing around the marina because they know they'll get handouts. Damn things watch the fishing boats as well and will steal fish off your hook. They know when you've hooked one. They watch.

I give props to the sea lion, this is what happens when you feed wild life. Would you hand feed a mountain lion and try and pet it?

Lol! Next time I see a mountain lion we will video the encounter for your viewing pleasure!;)

I hope the young girl and her family have a new found respect for animals. No surprise that giving an animal food than taunting it leads to this. The incident has received enough media attention that hopefully some people think twice before doing it. Should be a win all around. No body was seriously hurt and awareness should be raised on the dangers of feeding wild animals.

I like other posters on this thread agree that it's great to see no one is hurt but you are definitely right to point out feeding of wildlife is risky to both humans and animals.

People need to understand that animals in the wild are wild and can do anything. I bet they learned their lesson.

Yes it's good that the wasn't hurt. But to be honest I wouldn't have any sympathy if she was. I know that there is no such thing as common sense anymore, thanks to the snowflakes that run the world, but sometimes people have to learn lessons for themselves. As bad as it was it couldn't have turned out and better. Just hope these people and maybe so others that saw it online will recognize what can happen when you tempt wild life.
