rev 800 hard start when warm

my sled starts fine when cold... full choke, bit of throttle and three or 4 pulls. pretty standard. but after riding for a couple hrs stop for lunch or longer than 10 minutes or so its a hard start. the only way i can get it fired is full choke and about 10 or more pulls. mostly more........

ive had the carbs gone through.... 2 times already this year. everything is good. shes up to 2500 k on origional engine. ideas?

Are your carb heaters off? If so try changing the relay. Had this happen, the relay fails closed causing some of the spark to go to the head lights. Makes it a bugger to start.

Interesting I have the same problem with the wife's 600 will look at the relays
Carb heaters on or off didn't make a difference I found

how the compression, cracked carb boots????, friends sled did same thing turned out to be engine was toast cause of the cracked boots started fine when cold had higher compession, when warm everything expands had no compression.

It's the 1" black cube up by the fuses. Its the same one that when fails open you have no Lights. I had one fail open and one closed.

got the relay, gonna do a compression test too. one cold and one warm. readings should be similar right?

You are doing your compression test with the throttle wide open? Not trying to be an ass here, just asking.

Yes it does, cylinder needs to be able to suck in as much air as possible to get a true reading. Unobstructed airway.
So what you're saying is they throttle should be wide open? I did a compression test on mine and both sides came out at 120, but I didn't touch the throttle and it was cold....

Just hold it wide open when your pulling it over trying to start it and it will fire right up.

I'm really not trying to be an ass here, and I'm not saying that 75 isn't really low and likely means a top end. I'm just trying to point out that when you run a compression test it should be with the throttle wide open, unobstructed airway, and three good pulls. I can think of a few other things as well, like test cold and warm, pull plugs out of other cylinders, good way to find out if you've got head gasket bleed between cylinders, say on a tripple.
