Lots of noise over on crackbook asking for letters of support and signatures to try to get it repaired. They never created anything other than a poll there that won't hold its weight anywhere. Apparently McBride chamber of commerce now stepping in to try to get government support.

We never even went to renshaw this year because of the bridge shitshow such a snowmobile driven town has to be feeling the crunch, more needs to be done to get this pushed through and repaired

Not on Facebook but I do not support CML as they forgot who there regular customers were when the oilfield was paying big bucks for rooms, good luck to get our business back

F the government support. It will take 10 years for them to accomplish anything.
Obviously they are not hauling logs out of there, cause they would not be able to cross the bridge. Most of the bridges on the logging roads are in terrible shape, and all they ever seem to do is derate them.
I say let people make donations to the sled club for a new bridge or upgrading it so snowmobiles can use it.
I believe sledders used it this winter anyway in its current state. They just did not allow the groomer to cross over.
Could have got a crane to lift the groomer and drag over and groomed the other 26 km of trail.
Besides that, did they not allow the groomer over in the spring for the club to clean out the cabin.
Curious as to how much the businesses in town and club lost in revenue over this?

Too much red tape BS these days. Probably need hydrological, environmental, biological, and archeologic surveys just to replace an existing FSR bridge. Replacement needs to happen in the fish window which is usually at lowest flow in Jan/Feb. Used to be you could just rip it out and slap in an old railway flatcar or two as a bridge. Now so complicated it's out of reach financially for anyone but the gov't or a major corporation.

Was a huge revenue loss for the town from what I heard and the town of McBride will do what they can to get up and running for next season. They are probably working thru the red tape and making sure everything is a go before announcing anything. The red tape will be the hardest part and most time consuming

Serious question. Why don't the group of you that want the bridge re-opened get together and see what you can do to help?
Sled clubs are non-profits that rely heavily on volunteers. There can't be much in the way of resources in McBride and I suspect the vast majority of users are out of towners anyway.
Just a thought.

you can't just build a bridge on government land permit after permit is required environment assessments done you might kill a frog doing it
