Sled trails west of RMH look kinda crappy, real sad too see them melt away over the past few days.

+9c yesterday, with +4 today,,, last 4 days have been warm even at night time out that way. Snow on shaded in South sides is holding up better than stuff exposed to Sunshine.

Reporting from soft muddy gravel roads from 4@!!

Ha, let's hope not, they'd be tuff.

Looks like $53 bucks landed me in Radium Hot Springs too test the UTV quad tracks after all, there ain't no base too dig down-too now, Ha.

She'll be operator skills that pulls this off, that and hopefully not alot of shoveling...

Lucky thing for this outting is I know this wild-cat area well,,, lots of pictures too follow as test run

"Looking for Chipped Kow Horn/ Tight Saddle Ride" is soon too be now that I've completed "Donkey don't Like Tight Saddle." LOL

Lem at finding steep and deep that farm quads struggle in

not bad ride yesterday, 6 SxS's and one quad! went to the turn off to monkey top, turned and went back. lots of open water, but ice was at least 8 inches thick. one or two sketchy spots, river was reasonably busy with riders.

stay to the right on turns, guy on a green dirt bike almost bit it. not sure what was going on, guy n a gal on 2 polaris sleds, as we came around corner, gal was frantically pulling up pants? lol. good ride guy on rzr had 2 kids in back box, and was riding on tracks. they had a good time by the looks of it.

stay on he river as on top of banks is all private land, signs along river, stay out.

lol, yup, could have went over the riverbank though, lol.
I have not gone any farther up the Blindman than the hwy 20 bridge exit to Bentley, i'm sure you can get to Rimbey on the river! Would be a long ride. A leisurely ride on atv about 1:5 to 2 hrs on river, to Bentley. Stay on river no offshoot trails, all private land( you can exit on David Thompson sled trail though). There is a campfire set up that everyone uses on the bank, keep it cleaner than you found it. I picked up a beer can or two.

were you thinking sled or atv?

lots of twisty corners, icy, need to watch for high speed guys cutting inside corners at high rates of speed! open water spots were shallow rapid are's, no problem going around, but one spot looked real dicy, went around but no telling what was going on under ice? likely all right, but we didn't chance it.

Normally when we are creek riding it's atv but that river looks like it's good for both, I'm sure the snow isn't very good for sledding right now,we are ice riders if it wasn't risky it wouldn't be so fun....as for people getting hit my buddy got hit last year from a guy on a brand new gade...but such as life, machines can be fixed, it's us that's hopefully not hurt, my buddy straightened his frame and re welded other was a right off.

2a bridge to bently is right around 40 kms. You could go all the way to rimbey , I don't know how far it is but I would guess about the same 40 kms or so.

Monkey Top Sled Atv rally

Sat FEB 25/17

usually a pretty good crowd, tour around, lots out ice fishing, lunch on the ice, warm up at monkey top. prizes drawn a bit later, should be earlier, but i guess the crowd would clear out?

I will NOT sign the Jeep & 4x4 Ban..... while it is being viewed as "the start" of the closures, we've all seen the damage done by Jeeps to the west of the blue bridge on South Fork

OK??? there is no mention of $X$ trucks on the letter, just OHV's. i asked if someone could reword it and provide a link so that we can send one in? the more response that S Philips gets the better, but to sit here and listen to the same old same old is getting old.
