medler, has no more firewood? will have to burn the fence soon? now i know where there is loads of firewood, problem is i have to go outside to get it!!!!!

That way we can drink the contents then throw the empty wood can in the fire...

supposed to be -50 this am with wind-chill here! stuffed the fire place full before heading to bed last nigh! huge bed of coals left this morning, poor ol Scout didn't want to go out for his morning constitution, still have paw prints on door frame?

i wonder if ol mikey is still using that birch, should switch over to rushkin poplar, heats you twice, cutting/splitting then burning. birch, well you do get that empty wallet feeling and some heat while burning, but mike being mike only puts a half stick on at a time? pulls his pants pockets inside out to count his money and figure new ways to save $$$ on home heat. he relies heavily on solar heat , opens the window curtains, says sun energy is free

did i say it was cold out? supposed to warm up Saturday? yay.

never heard of cheap birch, not that much less ash, from what i've seen. I clean my fireplace of ash once maybe twice a week, usually a 2 gallon pail or less. we burn wood 24/7 from october to may! yes, the last 2 weeks has been brutal on the wood pile! ha. i used to haul birch back from work sites years ago, about as cheap as it gets, friggin heavy. can't doo it now! I refuse to burn pine or spruce, not worth the hassle. willow burns really nice, have lots of the russian poplar though, so being as frugal as i am that's what i burn. sure hate seeing money going up in smoke.
also use the ash, for traction on walks and driveway! works good!

yup it's highway robbery the way he pilfers my firewood and cans, should be a hanging offence! ha. then offers beer that he has dog lick the labels off. haha

ya ! only the dog usually lifts the pull tabs and dribbles a bit! nasty and i like lite beer, as the premium beer's are a bit heavy! can't tell without the label! mike seems like a good fella, but this is nasty!!
