And if NDP or the liberals get in federally. Your province will be the new Syria.... with no hand outs. Who says you can't shoot yourself in the foot, proof is in the pudding. And now you know why a modern man brain is 10% smaller than a Neanderthal.

In other breaking news... 43% of facts found in the internet are false. Beer is good. True story.

Haven't checked in with this thread in over a year but interesting to see how things have panned out Ina year. Market had a huge correction not to long ago although slowly gaining momentum again, oilfield has been crushed for the time being, and housing has fallen like a rock. I did call all of those but it's interesting seeing the worlds events unfold. Definitely still not a stable market and it was good there was a bit of air let out previously with the correction but now we're getting over 300 point moves on the Dow again which seems good but not really when there's no real reason for it to be climbing. Gl to anyone riding out this oilfield and market shakeout it's rough out there right now we're definitely in a recession.

Sorry , but where do you get your info ? Housing prices have not fallen like a rock ... In many areas of the country , record gains have been realized ! Such as Toronto , Vancouver etc etc.
The Canadian housing market in general is quite strong .....

Not to mention the oilfield isn't that bad either as we are still busy inspecting, repairing and sending out pipe to quite a few rigs

Depends where you are, some areas are hit harder than others. Try selling a house in cold lake right now and telling me the prices haven't fallen. I know people who've dropped there asking price 100k and still no offers. Yes they were overpriced for a long time but 2 years ago hardly anything was on the market more than a week or two, now everything sits for months. I haven't seen it but from what I hear lloydminster is much worse.

They are said on the news the other night that housing prices in Vancouver based on current pace will see an increase of 25% in value…. and that is not a typo.

Your last post in this thread was on Nov. 15, 2014. Not sure what calendar you've been looking at, but in my world, that is NOT "over a year".

There is prob. 30 rigs racked in B&R s yard here. Not one rig working anywhere in this area
(as far as i know)
If you drive the 4 lane day or night, there is hardly any pickers , goose necks and service bodies roaming around. (not normal what so ever)Every company I know anything about has downsized quite a bit.
Wages IMO are about what they were 15 years ago.(if not 20)
Houses have fallen a bit,but with a steady flow of immigrants coming in they are not likely going to drop that much.
IMO.
But there is ALOT for sale and ALOT empty. From 1995 to 2000 ish there was 100s of houses for sale here around and below the 100k mark. Those same houses are 350k today.

Cnrl/husky usually poke 1200 holes in my area a yr. lucky to have 100 holes this yr. about 5 rigs within 120km of here compared to the usual 30-40. Luckly we have 2 of the 5 rigs.

Be bunkering down for another yr imo.
