I cut those up into 1x1' squares to be analyzed. We use 36000psi water and powdered garnet. They are about 6-8" thick in the thin spots. LOTS of steel belting.

And on the new ones the right (I think) rear takes out the DEF tank when it blows. Son's getting tired of replacing them.

On the tier 4 trucks, yes. They can cause an incredible amount of damage, depending on what position the blow-out happens. Spidered windshields are common. Best I’ve seen 4” tubes crumple like pop cans, torn hoses and clamps, even the return line blown off the back the back of the fuel tank.
