Does a vessel like that come with rigging guidelines? Or is it trade knowledge on max angles and when you need to use a spreader bar?

Best way to go about doing a lift on something like this is get a hold of the manufacturer, they designed it, they will know how the object your lifting is designed to be lifted..

This here is a Novid stainless liquid fertilizer tank 1640, (16' wide, 40' tall) holds 61,000 ish US gallons.

These tanks can be lifted up to a certain weight with regular Rigging at 45° from the engineered lifting points. Anything after that they reccomend spreader bars to lift straight up.

45° lifts put a fair amount of extra stress on your rigging, I prefer 60° or more if I can.
