so the guy called me today....said he tried it, it fired no problem, his compression guage is f'ed (tested it on his new machine) and ran it for a couple hours this morn. and' it ran with no issues, shut it down, fired it up over and over......has no idea what happened.....any suggestions??

so did he test it with a different compression tester?

yes. offer him 800 bucks, no more. if he don't bite, look for another sled. chit like that just doesn't happen for no reason.

Beg, steal or borrow a tester and take it with you. If both sides are balanced then maybe consider it.

Being I ride a 90 mach 1, I would suggest that the coil is most likely the problem if never replaced as I had this problem with run good for the few minutes then you shut down and could not get to restart. Buy yourself your own compression tester and test yourself. Tester from Cantire is only a fifty at most. To rebuild top end only without reboring is 250-300 a jug as you have to use a L ring piston(This is replacing piston,ring, wrist pin, base gasket,circlips and top o rings).
