Went up yesterday and the gate on the access road was closed. Why - website says open just not collecting trail fees. That was a pissy long ride on a snowbike to get to 6km where the snow started.

That road gets super soft and totally rutted in the spring. They probably gate it now so they don't have to rebuild it every year.

Anyone know if Gormans still open? Heading down Friday looking for options on places we can still get too?

Gorman is good to go, same with silent.
How far of a drive in with a truck on silent?

Hit Gorman today parked up a few clicks from the second lot at the bridge. Some small patches of gravel but no long stretches. Big avy pushed right up to the the sign by the last outhouse before the alpine. Lots of stuff has come down in the last few days looks like.

We made the trip into silent pass yesterday. Took us 1.25 hours from highway 95 to when we hit snow and turned around since we had a deck and a two place. Drove to about 48 km when we hit solid snow and from there the coverage is great. Aside from the long drive in, there is still plenty of riding left. Was very cold up top yesterday until about noon when the sun broke out and snow turned to mash potatoes and we had a blast. Lots of slides but still lots of safe terrain to mess around on and enjoy the sunshine. Will consider a trip in June if our schedules allow it!!

We went to silent yesterday, were the only ones in there (go figure) took us an hour and 10 mins to reach the 46km mark, road is in good shape only a few muddy spots. Also saw a momma bear and two cubs on the way up and down. Then had to squeak past the groomer and drive another km to reach the snow line, spun the truck around on the 12' wide trail and it was all snow from there except for the first bridge the conc deck was bare as a bone. The rest of the trail has a couple feet on it still and we probed 8-9ft snow pack in the first meadow when you get in, season could be till end of June up there. Same as posted about in gorman avy activity all over the place...never seen so many slides and large ones with snowballs the size of a pickup truck. We were hoping to pull a couple chutes but wasnt worth the risk. For those heading in, ride safe. Overall good day, probably the last one of the year for us.
