What you think Jim Prentice might give us a PST?? Our government is in so deep 50 dollar oil can't keep them afloat?

Personally I'm voting WR next go round as my mla is one of the traitors who went to the pc party.

How can these idiots running the government base a huge chunk of their revenue on a knowingly volatile commodity such as crude oil. Do they just hope and pray the price stays steady?? Time to dip into the fund and also start stashing more away.

I bet Prentice is thinking of PST, What I think will happen here is a snap election soon, then he will have 4 more years, after he wins he will instate a sales tax. Wait and see. BUT even so I would not vote for Wild Rose. They stink

He said in an article there is 5 billion in it. Still not enough to cover their losses. I think they said around 10 billion short?

When Klein was running things the province had cash because nothing was being spent on infrastructure. He instituted a flat tax that basically destroyed and stable income base for the government, forcing them to rely on resource cash for operating revenue. There is a reason that Alberta is pretty much the only jurisdiction with a flat tax.... Because it's stupid.

How do you think Alberta is going to pay for it's share of the 10,000 Syrian refugees coming in?

What does surprise me is no talk from prentice to pull from heritage trust, it has roughly 17.5 billion in the savings account, so if we know we are going to have a tough 12-18 months depending on how long the Saudis hold oil down and prentice says we are 500mill short on revenues seems like not a big drain on the fund to keep ab flush in a tough time.

PST will be like gun registration.

No one has a clue what happened to the money or what it cost to administer.

This is the perfect time for Prentice to implement a provincial tax. No credible opposition anymore to run him out of office in the next election. What an A hole....
