anyone have this filters on their trucks? i need to know if oil in the filter is bad for it, and also is the filter just an insert that slides in to the shell? or how does it work?

the filter is off a ford

are you talking about the Volant Powercore, if so I have one and its a paper filter with no oil. not sure if you can put it in the stock air box, I have a volant intake, and it clamps onto the intake tube inside their air box.

Powercore is the trade name Donaldson uses for their paper media filters. I'm not sure why you're asking about oil? The only filters that need to be oiled are the cotton / gauze type and I wouldn't wish one of those on my worst enemy. Donaldson's Powercore filters are the best you can buy, IMO.

the reasom asking is because my filter was soaked in oil, and i'm not sure if i need to get a new filter or if its ok the way it is
