Terrible what a person has to do to keep the riff raff out nowadays. Friends of ours look at me like I'm over the top with the yard security. I tell them you live by a highway with a reserve 20 minutes away and see how you make out.
Ask the farmer from Biggar Sask about being "invaded"

Time for a gate bro!

I know, really trying to stay away from having one just due to the pain in the ass every time you come and go (and the pricing doesn’t help on actuated gates....) but there are days it seems like a guy needs to do it.

Told one guy that was out and looking around that in other places you could get shot for such a thing, he didn’t hang around long. Our Great Dane (RIP) was a great deterrent too.

Phone KMS tools to get a price on some welding gas, drive 45 minutes into town to pick up said gas and be told they haven't had bottles in stock since May. WTF you couldn't have mentioned that when I called?

Nice day here today. Brought out all the wannabe biker badasses on their Harley’s....why is it that they have to blip the throttle 30 times sitting at a red light....or slow down to 30 to open up traffic in front of them so they can then pin the throttle To catch up so everyone has to be assaulted by their noisy $hitboxes....bunch of douchebags....

So Visa calls my wife and says we missed last months payment. I figure its a scam so I call them back with the phone # on my card. After going through the promps I get a woman I can barely understand. She explains she needs to ask me some security questions to protect me. Fine I said fire away! I'm rolling along great till she asks me how many years I have had this particular account? I said a long time. prolly over 20 yrs. She says how many years exactly? I said I have no idea. I said where do I find out this info? Is it on my statement somewhere? She says I should know that. I said how long have you had your current visa card? She says she can't help me anymore as the system locked her out because I gave a wrong answer. And then the fight was on. How the fack do you get help from visa if you can't answer one of the 10 security questions she asks? Anybody know where I can get this answer. Anybody that hasn't got a new card in the last 2 yrs actually know to the year they have had their card??

I got my present card sometime in the early 70's from RBC. I haven't got a clue when the date was. What kind of a plucking question is that anyways??

I went through my VISA account pages and there is no way that you will find it there. My records only go back to 2013 and there is no beginning date. They have longer than expected wait times so I put in a request for them to phone me. I'll see what happens.

If you have an account at Equifax and/or Transunion, I believe it shows the start date of every account ever opened in your name. If you don't have an account to check your personal credit info....you should IMO.

update...Equifax has a report that shows account history with opening dates (month/year). I could not find that info on Transunion.

Thanks Cat. I'll try and look in to that.

Well Ken, after talking to a RBC advisor, she couldn't tell me where I could find the date. FYI, she thought that was a silly question for security purposes. She found the inception date of my card but I don't have the tools that she has. Sorry, I couldn't find out more.

Thanks anyways buddy. I think I'll talk to my Scotia Advisor next time I'm in the bank and see what she says.

Might be time to cancel it.

Think twice before you do that. it might be the worse thing to do unless you don't care about your credit rating. A long term credit card is an asset to a high credit score.

I am surprised that the credit card person did not have other questions to ask you. Until I looked mine up at the credit bureau, I couldn't have accurately answered that question on my credit cards...
