X2. Stump grinder or backhoe/bobcat. $150 for either choice and you'll probably spend $75 on new chain and files for the saw anyway and it will take you 10 times longer.

The problem is that its not just one stump there is 6 trees in this cluster and being so close to the fence, deck, house I was trying to cut the stump down enough to stump grind! Skid steer is not a option for this spot or a track hoe!....maybe dynomite!

You could work at that stump without having to cut down with a grinder. I rented a grinder for 4 hours and did 3 massive spruce stumps and 3 birch tree stumps in that timeframe - they are fast and once you get used to them work great.

is that a rock embedded inside the stump? cool.....

Yes this saw has seen it all. The first day I owened it I was cutting down a 100 foot elm half way trough the truck....sparks. The person who planted it must have used a 3/4 chunk of rebar to support it while planting and the tree grew around it. I bought the saw at Central equpt rentals 13 years ago, when I went back in to get a new chain I told them the saw was a POS wont cut rebar.... Funny the looks you get when people think your serious! Love the husky still starts after a couple pulls, next one will be Stihl after the changes I heard about Husky! But if I could go back I would buy 2!

I just bought a Stihl Kombe system with the weed wacker, sweeper and roto tiller attachments that thing is great. I also bought it due to the fact the wife can start it!

I would have to build a fire pit around it and have a screen to cover it, to meet city bylaw

You care what city bylaw says? As long as you control it, who cares.

I have had bylaw come by my house several times and say something, and gladly tell them where to go.......

somewhere out their
You could also buy a carbide tipped chain? A new chain would be like $30 bucks and it would last to get 'er out and then spend a couple hours sharpening....good luck:beer:

i dont think you would want carbide, sure they last longer, but they cost about $80 and if you ever hit a rock or something that chain is done
