Im sure you could do a decent job with a chain saw; chalk lines and a ripping chain. Give it a try. You have nothing to lose. If it doesn't work out, then firewood.Yes pretty far away. Think this log is worth anything?
Its about 12 feet long and 18inch diameter. Manitoba maple.
I dont have a saw mill, my dad might get one... but was thinking just fire wood, but it is a nice looking log though.
It you get it into something similar to a board, let it dry out in a cold building. Then hit it with a planer. You may find a new love and it won't cost you anything.
