engine # 1 - 7500$
engine # 2 - 6500$
engine # 3 - 5500$
engine # 4 - 4500$
engine # 5 - 3500$
engine # 6 - light on fire.

the problem is too that any buyer can do a vin check and see the history of the machine and its 6 engines. realizing he is the new buyer of the sled and more than likely engine # 7

Maybe if we could do a vin check we would get the real story on these 5 engines. My dragon is not exempt from all these blow ups,it had over 13000 in warranty work done to it but have had 1600 miles on it since last up date. Now looking for a fix before it blows.I bought it I ride it I fix it no bitching from me.

Agree! Been through customer support, and head office. Tried to get a hold of CEO Scott Wine, but of course he has an assistant. Warranty tech, did "bleep all" Not giving up. After 3 engines, 922 km, and for what. The last three years the sled has spent the majority of the sledding season in the shop to get in returned in May, then when you have the chance to ride it, oops no warranty, and excuse after excuse. Apparently they dont take in account that you need to ride a trail to get to the mountain, but i guess we are supposed to work on it before we ride up, then adjust it again when we are in the mountains, then adjust it again when we ride down the mountains. That was their last excuse. What the "bleep"! Thanks for the email addresses. Will be contacting them again.

My Buddy just got his Assault back from the dealer, second motor. They told him to run premium with some Av gas or 110 in with it. He is going to try that, so time will tell he is really hoping!

I think premixing with oil would be a safer bet. Are they saying the map is so far off that they are having detonation problems?

I would get them to put that into writing because that's about the dumbest thing a dealer could say. Obviously they do not know what the problem is if they are suggesting to run race gas in a stock motor.

Regardless, it makes no sense, he's only going to hurt the performance, not help it, sure it might keep the motor going longer if it doesn't make as much HP....Why didn't they just suggest he pull off both plug wires instead? Then he will be guaranteed the motor will last forever. The compression is not high enough to warrant running Av gas, are they going to refund him the difference between the AV and premium he burns in a year? AV gas is about $1.73/litre as of last week, premium is $1.16/L............Tell your buddy to have fun with that......

Not sure whats going on with polaris but ive heard its there fuel system thats causing all the problems and they claim its fixed for 2011 models.

Everyone should buy a 2011 then, do you think they will give good trade in value on the 2010's?

They were saying there is a lean spot and to add the av gas to make sure that the fuel is 91 octane. Small town with only 2 choices for fuel and the premium is definitely not that fresh. I agree not the best alternative price wise.

No problem!! Polaris head office sent 3 guys up here to help so keep the e-mails going. I installed a cooling re-router gimzo and so far so good.

Wouldn't it make more sense to change the mapping to add fuel and fix the problem they created, instead of telling the consumer to use $1.74/L (or more) fuel as a band-aid solution (at best)? Again, I'd be looking for a cheque from Polaris to refund me the difference of Premium to Av gas if this is their recommendation.

Seriously - no wonder they can't get a motor to run right. It will still be lean, it just won't detonate as much when it burns down from still being too lean........????

Thumbs up to the genuis who thought of that one......:ThumbsupMsn:

Run mine on regular when no fresh premium is around, ethanol wires unplugged and 100-1 oil in the gas.I can barely afford the regular let alone the av gas!!!!
Some of these sleds run better on regular with the wires unplugged.

Here is an email to/from Polaris...PS: they do not like porn. :realmad:

The only person that I have associated with the email address is Darcy .

The enclosure on the last email to me and copied to Stacey H******* is pornographic in nature and is entirely inappropriate.

I will pass it to our legal team.

Bill Fisher

Why do you not reply to all the e-mails that are not pornagraphic. I am just a long time customer looking for some answers. I believe everyone that bought an 08 or 09 800 dragon should pass our concerns on to a legal team in the form of a class action lawsuite. Please give me a call Bill at 780 621-1***.
Best regards Darcy C******

Good luck to all those involved. I had 34 polaris sleds for a guide/rental biz in 2008. 21 of the 34 went through multiple engines during the season. 13 of them where out of commission for a minimum of 30 days of a 90 day season at $389.00 per sled per day. 7 of them where out for all but 5-7 days of the 90 day season. You do the math.
The suite finally went to court last winter. Got nothing back but legal fees.
