I just sold my '03 escape with close to 10,000 miles and had to do the motor once. Just bought my friends '08 Dragon with 4100 miles on it and top end just completed 150 miles ago (no other major work required). Hope it holds up like the escape :)

everyone is bashing on poo here and their warrenty dependability etc. every manufacturer has its share of lemons.
however in the opening post he said that they said his "pipe" caused the issue. and then went ranting how they wont warrenty his engine.
he didnt specify if it was factory or aftermarket. twin or single, i assume single because he said pipe not pipes. but if it was an aftermarket pipe why should poo warrenty it? unless they approve of the pipe on their engines, was the engine set up to handle said pipe ie jetting, clutching, we need more info here imo before we bash on poos. imo
its way to easy to do that anyways.:d
and in another thread same peep said they blamed it on overheating:confused: not sure but maybe there is alot more to the story than meets the internet.

i think hes implying that the stock pipe is causing the sled to run lean and take out motors.

no one can expect warranty when adding aftermarket

Magnet,

Its an SLP pipe which has nothing to do with the pipe. The front of the pistons or scuffing as are alot of stock sleds, as for the warrenty who cares All I want Polaris to do is fix the issue and not pass the buck!

I paid on the higher side (8000) because it came with a whole bunch of aftermarket stuff such as bags, pipes, clutching, gas rack, brand new track (last one had a branch rip thru it on one of our rides).

Well just got off the phone with Polaris headquarters and they say and I quote "the problem with the motor is the Pipe"!!! I $h!t you not!!! So i figured I would let everyone i can possibly can that they are a bunch of douche bags!! Now I will say at least the dealership is helping the best they can but I will never buy another Polaris product. And just for good measure anyone else who is having problems with there 800 dragon the CEO 's e-mail is scott.wine@polarisind.com and the VP is william.fisher@polarisind.com feel free to send them an email on how you feel!! Maybe enough of us get together they will realize we pay there salaries!!

Previous message:If you guys can believe this Polaris wont warranty my 800 dragon motor. I am on engine #5 and it just went. The dealership is saying now its a cooling issue and figures they got it figured out. We'll see i guess. Has anyone heard of any other fixes??? Time to say here kitty kitty!!!

so make up you mind here tilley:confused: your first post i just got off the phone and polaris said its the pipe:confused::confused: you have installed an aftermarket pipe. they cannot be held responsible for the engine failure imo. you chose to perform this mod they didnt.
in you internet wisdom what is causing this if polaris is wrong?
is your sled jetted correctly for the pipe?
is this pipe approved for your year model and cc of sled?
have you performed any other mods that slp has recommended when running this pipe?
were you possibly given the wrong pipe in the right box so to speak, ie 700 pipe in an 800 box?
many other variables here that we do not have the answers to.
also how many of these other failures are on stock sleds, stock pipes as they come from the factory?
i would be confident in saying only 1 or 2 at most as everybody at least installs a can.

when i had a sled i averaged 2500 to 3500 kms each year and never had one break down.:)

So when the SRX wouldn't run that wasn't a "breakdown"?

How about when it started fouling plugs? What about the anti-freeze leak?

here are some threads started by you that suggest they have broken down young feller....A few months on the island in purgatory has made your mind forgettful........

If you got a pipe then Polaris states in their owners manual warranty is void . If you had a good dealer then this would not be a problem.

I have never had to get a sled worked on under warrenty but i know with the quads if its the factory warrenty my dealer didn't really care what i did to the quad as long as it didn't directly cause the problem. I had axle problems and had 28" tires and they still fixed it no ? asked. I think theres more to this story than we are getting.
