And why does it say "do not remove" ?

Just winging it. but maybe ensures the router turns the correct way by doing something to the power.
Or protects it from turning the wrong way if something changes in the power....

I dont have the slighest clue, but someone might.. LOL

It's a wire connector, if you remove it, you will lose power to other end......lol

Here are two things to consider............might be what it is for????

The router features Constant Response™ circuitry, which maintains a consistent speed by detecting heavy loads and increasing power to maintain the selected RPM. It features soft-start circuitry, which reduces startup torque.

I found the same thing on a pigtail led marker light on my Flatdeck. The light was out so I cut it open and all there is was a connection. The wire was cracked so I recrimped and now it works...black taped it and moved on.

I bet that they put that on so they only have to change part of the cord to put another connector on to fit another countries power socket to it.

From the title I thought this was an announcement of the new Ski Doo gimmick that was going to be hailed as a game changer by Maxwell. Sorry, my bad.

In my head
"A ferrite bead with a conductor through it is an inductor and so is used as a low pass filter. Typical use is for power cables to reduce EMI (electromagnetic interference). They are ferrite (magnetic) rings, over cables in order to suppress noise and filter out unwanted external interference."

It's an anti theft device that sets off an alarm if you leave without paying. Pry it off and throw it away. It contains a little magnetic device.

I thought its suppose to help weight the cord so it droops away from the bit or working area

It probably has magnets in it. Ive noticed that new tv's and stereos have this clamped on the power cord. Im not sure why tho.
