One more thing in Valemount to piss off the Alberta travelers.

While talking to a local CVSE officer this week he told me they have had a directive from Victoria to clamp down on headlight adjustments. They are supposed to start handing out tickets and repair orders for vehicles with headlights deemed to be out of adjustment. They are particularly concerned with the new LED headlights which are very sensitive to adjustment as well as vehicles with loads on the back which throw the lights out of adjustment. He specifically mentioned trucks with tidy tanks as well as trucks with sled decks.

There are specific measurements that have to be met, but I am to lazy to look them up online.

You can be sure the local CVSE in Valemount and Golden will pick up on this very fast, not that many weeks left in the sledding season.

I guess your excused from blinding all the on coming traffic because your packing a load? Yeah, real bright (pardon the pun)

Well out to the garage tomorrow. out come the lights,in goes the oil lanterns!!

This kinda reminds me of a story of an old trucker we work with.

He was getting flashed all the time when he had his dims on. We told him to set his light, they were way to high, glaring the heck out of us. He said he didnt want to, he could hardly see on dim as it was.

Well, the next monday morning comes, by golly met him on the road and his lights were lowered, no more blinding. I called him, told them he they were great. His response? "Funny thing, I can see way better now on dim too." Go figure.

Another reason to skip Vale IMO, I have my truck outfitted for hauling, headlights are professionally installed and aligned, lateral trac bars and additional rear leaf for hauling(doesn't sag at all with my trailer), trailer is in perfect order and all went through this fall early season by Vale's finest road cops, now add in this crap on top of the way those of us get treated when we come there, I have no time for Vale, pull me over waste your and my time and I will spend my money and buy trail passes where my money is wanted, I don't have to wonder what is missing from my rig or trailer in the am, I pay reasonable fuel prices, and the locals realize the impact the sled community has on their city, like Revy or Sicamous. I agree with the headlights but where does it stop, these retards waste all our time enough as is and Vale really isn't that welcoming in the first place, there's a reason I stay at holy smoke and drive when I'm down this way, at the very least I am treated well and my equipment ain't getting messed with, whine and cry about my post all you want, all I know is my group was already talking about boycotting this area and we have heard many other talking in a similar fashion due the the previously mentioned issues, this isn't helping anything

those LED lights suck!

As the proud owner of LED's in two of my vehicles, I agree, they can SUCK big time for oncoming traffic. It is far more imperative to have them set properly than standard halogen.

In this region LED's are the rage for trucks, and thats part of the reason for the crackdown on headlight alignment, way to many complaints from the general public. When you swith to LED's you have to lower your light settings a fair bit.

ya there is a fine line to aligned perfect with a few flashes every once in a while to constantly flashing as your lighting up the sky
